Inquiry in Motion Class Series
Thursdays ~ 6:30 - 8:30 pm
in Asheville

Jan 22 - Feb 26
with limited drop in slots for the first night

Inquiry in Motion is a movement-based therapeutic practice for real life

So many of us are carrying a lot these days—overwhelm, financial strain, uncertainty, the hum of “too much.” If that’s you, you’re not alone. Inquiry in Motion offers a weekly sanctuary: a place to land in your body, reconnect with your inner resources, and remember your capacity to meet life as it is.

This is more than a dance class. It’s movement therapy rooted in Open Floor movement/dance practice, Somatic Experiencing principles, and embodied inquiry. We move, we play, we sweat, and yes—we have fun. But we also slow down, track sensation, and build the skills that help us stay present, grounded, and resilient in our everyday lives.

Each class weaves together:
  • SE-informed awareness practices that help regulate the nervous system and deepen self-attunement.
  • Guided movement explorations that bring you beneath your stories and into direct conversation with your body’s intelligence.
  • Creative, expressive dance to shake things loose, access vitality, and reconnect with joy.
  • Mindful inquiry that supports insight, integration, and real-life application.

We dance not to escape life, but to meet it more fully—one breath, one sensation, one honest moment at a time.
Over our weeks together, you’ll develop tools you can take into daily life: greater body awareness, emotional resilience, clearer boundaries, and the ability to come back to center when you’ve been pulled away.

And because we practice with a committed group, something powerful happens:
  • We build a safe and steady container together.
  • Trust grows, allowing deeper therapeutic exploration.
  • Community becomes part of the medicine.

Inquiry in Motion is an invitation to move, feel, explore, and come home to yourself—while being held by a warm, grounded community.

All levels of experience welcome. Open to all ages 18 and up.

🌿 Deepen Your Journey: Group + Individual Work 🌿
My Inquiry in Motion series offers a powerful way to explore healing and transformation through movement, community, and shared experience. When you combine that with personal Somatic Experiencing® sessions, you create a truly supportive path for change.

Group practice gives you connection, belonging, and the inspiration of moving together. Individual sessions give you the chance to go deeper into your own system — tending to the unique patterns, stories, and stresses your body is holding.

Together, these two pathways complement each other beautifully:
✨ In group, you feel the nourishment of community.
✨ In session, you receive focused attention to release what’s been stuck and build resilience.
✨ Both support you in feeling more grounded, vital, and free in your everyday life.

Doing both is like weaving a strong, flexible web of support around your healing — one that holds you as you grow, shift, and reclaim your natural flow.

“Doing the six-week Inquiry in Motion series alongside individual Somatic Experiencing sessions was truly transformative. The combination created a powerful container that helped me start to release old trauma in a way I hadn’t experienced before. Each week’s theme in the group deepened the work I was doing in session, and together they gave me the kind of support I’d been longing for. It was life-changing, and I’m so grateful for the synergy between the movement and SE sessions.”
            ~ River

🌿 Special Offer🌿 If you’d like to deepen your journey during the Inquiry in Motion series, I’m offering $10 off each personal session you do while attending the series (with a minimum commitment 3 sessions to get the discount).

To support your process most effectively, sessions need to be scheduled weekly or bi-weekly while you’re attending the series. This rhythm helps the work build steadily, giving your system the consistency it needs to soften, integrate, and grow.

Please contact me if you'd like to take advantage of this powerful opportunity.

"Thank you for leading us through this beautiful class! You really helped me get back into my body after going through some traumatic events and major life shifts."
~ Lauren Smith

“Stacey’s dance classes were a space for transformation for me. I learned so many ways to integrate and move my emotions for which I’m so grateful!! It was a beautiful bonding experience with my community too.”
  • Jordan Lockaby

“Stacey led my dance class series and opened my eyes to the transformative power of an open floor movement practice. She created a safe space for us to express ourselves and get to know our bodies in new ways. Each class had a different theme, from the open/closed duality of the heart to the groundedness of the feet to the pauses of breath and life and the tensions we carry around with us. I breathed deeper and clearer after my classes with her, and looked forward to them every week as a form of movement therapy. I feel tremendously lucky to have had her as my teacher and guide. I look forward to future classes and to continuing my own journey of exploring and honoring the breadth of emotions that run through my blood and live deep in my bones. These dance classes are something *everyone* could benefit from. Truly magical!”
  • Ben S.

“WOW! Stacey's Open Floor Movement dance workshops are my favorite thing in life right now! She hosts a closed cohort that meets for 5 or 6 weeks at a time. Participants get to know one another through the language of dance, which creates intimacy, community, and a sense of safety that allows for a deeper degree of vulnerability. There's true healing here! Stacey also brings her depth of somatic knowledge into the curated workshops that feel to be a melding between somatic experiencing, yoga, and ceremony. Of all the conscious dance in Asheville, what Stacey has created is truly unique, special, intentional, and EXACTLY the space you want to be in if you desire movement for healing mind, body, and soul!”
  • Jessica R.

“I cannot thank you enough for so expertly facilitating such a therapeutic space during my transition to this area and ALL the changes I’ve been through. It was a profound yet gently healing experience”
  • Beverly Brinn

"Love Stacey's classes - take them almost every offering as I gain more of me each time I dance with her. I'll feel sluggish and too tired to go, but once I get past the resistance and arrive, I quickly feel happy and energized by the end of the two hours. Also seen, cared for, and honored."
